The world of Beard products will never be the same again. Beard Tings have launched and their stuff is flying off the shelves! I have been testing out these amazing oils for a while now and I have been very impressed indeed. Let’s move on to my Beard Tings Review – Black Oak Oil.
Beard Tings in a Nutshell
Beard Tings is the brain child of Andy who has gone from reviewing beard products to making his own. The build up to launch was nothing short of spectacular and his products have hit the mark with bearded men from around the world.
There are 6 scents overall. The Gold Line contains the flagship scent (and Andy’s favourite) Vanilla Killa alongside Caribbean Cut Throat and Ace of Blades. The Black Line is a darker, deeper scent profile with Smoked Amber, Vintage Leather and Black Oak.
There are 6 complimentary balms to go with the oils and Andy has loads of great ideas and new products coming next year. I think you can expect great things from Beard Tings in 2021. Now, here’s my thoughts on Black Oak.
Scent
This is a powerful scent that really defines the Black Line. It’s got a real deep fragrance with Ylang Ylang really firing up the nasal hairs with its rich notes lighting up. The Plum and Truffle make for intriguing bedfellows and they go nicely together. The plum really adds a sweetness that lights the whole oil up.
After a while you can really smell the Rum, Sandalwood and Patchouli taking over as the oil mellows out giving you a really calm fragrance that keeps on giving.
Staying Power
I was impressed with the fragrance, but would the oil last long enough to enjoy throughout the day. The answer was yes with a solid 7 hours. The initial hit lasted a good couple of hours but once it had mellowed the fragrance kept on going.
It lasted nearly the whole working day which is a decent turnaround for most oils. Not only that but since they launched, Andy has improved the formula! I’ll let you know if it’s any better next year.
Feel
The carrier oils really work well together to help make the beard soft, even taming the wiry greys! Argan, Jojoba, Sweet Almond and Grape Seed oils help nourish the hair and keep it healthy.
Skin
As with the feel of the beard after using the oil, my skin also felt nourished and well mousturised. The oils aren’t too thick so they easily dissolve into the skin leaving it feeling smooth under the beard.
Value For Money
At £12.99 for a 30ml bottle it is well worth buying. The quality of the oil with its great scent and nourishing carrier oils put this oil in the Premium range.
The packaging it comes in is of the highest quality and you get a real sense of the passion for the brand from Andy as well. An excellent oil at an excellent price.
Conclusion
Beard Tings is one of the most exciting Beard brands to have hit the market and with a stunning line up to kick start the company, you get the feeling there is more to come. 2021 is going to be an amazing year for lots of small batch beard companies but Beard Tings might just eclipse them all.
