For those of you who read my blogs and have read my reviews then you know that I reviewed Hinterlands Beard Oil recently. Well, fairly recently. It was the Nordic Mist scent and it is still one of my favourite oils I have ever used! But, is Serenity going to take its crown? Find out in my Hinterlands Beard Oil Review – Serenity.
Hinterlands Beard Oil
I wrote a little bit about Josh and his brand on the last review and if you want to find out more then go to his new website www.hinterlandsbeardoil.com. There you can find out more about his story and much more.
If you did read my previous article then you will know that Josh has a partnership with One Tree Planted. This means that whenever you purchase a bottle of oil from Hinterlands Beard Oils, a tree will be planted in an area of severe deforestation.
Okay, let’s move on to Serenity and go through my five key factors.
Scent
Another amazing scent from Hinterlands Beard Oil. Josh just seems to be able to find the perfect balance of oils to create the most wonderful fragrances. Of course, I haven’t tried all of his oils but I’m sure I will be. and soon!!
His essential oils include Black Pepper and Vanilla Oleoresin which brings a bit of spice to the oil. The great thing here is that the pepper isn’t overpowering at all. It’s a tricky one to get right and Josh has nailed it!
It’s a tantalisingly subtle fragrance that really does bring you a feeling of calm. The name Serenity is so apt for this oil and I actually started using it at night before going to bed. Now, it didn’t send me straight to sleep or anything like that! It just made me feel relaxed as I took in the serene smell of Serenity!
Staying Power
I have been using the oil for some time now and have found it to last a reasonably long time. It doesn’t come anywhere near the staying power that Nordic Mist has but it isn’t bad at all.
Over the course of a full week I would say the scent lasted on average about 4 hours a day. This would fluctuate depending on what I was doing but it is about the average length of time most oils last.
Feel
As with Nordic Mist the mixture of carrier oils really benefits the beard. It feels soft and the oil really helps to nourish the whiskers thoroughly.
This is consistent with what I have already experienced and I am presuming the other oils will have the same effect!
Skin
The Almond, Castor and Apricot Kernel oils all have huge benefits for your skin and beard. They sooth the skin and nourish it while also making the beard soft.
The Castor Oil binds the other two together to help them spread evenly and soak in to the beard. No excess grease or oil when applied correctly.
Value For Money
Well, I said that Nordic Mist is great value for money and Serenity is certainly worth spending the pennies on! The quality of the oils from Hinterlands are exceptional and I truly recommend them.
The price of £15 for 30ml might seem high for someone who is starting out on their beard journey. Trust me though, they are worth every penny. They are premium oils and are far superior to other so called ‘premium’ beard oils on the market today.
Along with the fact that Josh donates to One Tree Planted for every bottle sold and you have your answer. These oils are top of my list so far and you won’t regret buying Serenity!
Conclusion
By the way, I am not affiliated with Hinterlands Beard Oil, I just love them!! Nordic Mist is still my favourite but Serenity is a very close second.
Another great product from Josh and Hinterlands and I can’t wait to try the next one! To buy one of his oils visit his website by clicking the link below.
